Dinner today

My mom bought me an immersion blender for Christmas!

I love soup, so I was super excited for this.

Today I decided to try the Potato Cheese Soup recipe from the WW website.

It's only 3 points for one cup.

I forgot to take pictures while I was making it, but it was delicious. A little spicy, so I might use less paprika and/or mustard next time.

I think I'm making the Sweet Potato soup tomorrow.

All in all, an excellent recipe.

Weightwatchers

I've been thinking today because of my meeting and various posts on the 20s board about WW. Mainly about whether or not I think I'll continue meetings/tracking forever.

At least for now, I know I need it. I've lost 15 lbs on WW (and gained back 3 of those pounds). I only have 9-15 lbs to go for my goal (depending on when I decide to stop). However, I know I'll need to keep tracking for now and for a while.

I gained 20 lbs in nine months!!!!!! Nine months!!!! If I had kept going at that rate without WW, I would have gained another 20 lbs this year! (Okay maybe not that extreme but who knows?).

I didn't really track during finals. I gained 3 lbs! I knew I was being bad, but I had so few options and was studying so late I just indulged.

I know what I need to do to make WW successful. I know what choices I need to make. I know I can make this last.

However, for the time being, I need WW. I need the accountability. I really do feel like I could keep going to meetings and tracking for the rest of my life. I think it will be doable!

I know this post was kind of rambling, but I thought I'd get my thoughts out there.

Wii games

For Christmas, I received three new Wii games to help with my WL journey, the Biggest Loser, EA Active, and the Wii fit plus.

Now, I know none of these are the greatest work out ever. However, they are fun and will be good on days that I simply can't get to the gym.

I'll review one on each day.

First up, Wii Fit Plus.

This one is deft. the less strenuous workout of the three I received. My grandpa gave me this one.

Added features are new games and the ability to combine workouts. I like being able to combine workouts. The Wii Fit Plus comes with activites already combined to focus on certain areas. You can also combine strength training and yoga moves. This is nice so you don't have to pause as much between moves!!

The new games are pretty fun. I like the snowball game a lot.

This is also the best of the three to do together. The other two are better workouts, but they aren't really "fun." This you can do with friends.

I like it as a game, but as a workout it has some flaws.

I'm still with my two favorite cats.

Diet Coke

I love diet coke. I know it isn't good for me, but I still love it.

For Christmas, my mom bought be these cute little ornament looking things of Diet Coke. I wanted to blog today, but everything else I would want to talk about is downstairs with no picture. I'm upstairs with a snuggie and a cute little gray kitty.

Here is the kitty. Her name is Lily. She is my parent's cat.

Finally, a picture of my kitty, Twix.

Christmas

Christmas was today!! yay! (I still say today since I'm still up)

I got a lot of great presents which I'll talk about more later!! A lot of things that will help me with WW and getting more fit/eating better.

But, I also got a blu-ray player (which was my big gift!!). It is so nice. The picture quality is amazing.

Anyway.

Today for Christmas I didn't do to bad. I ate two cinnamon rolls in the morning (but I planned them). I also made TWO different kinds of one point cookies!! It was awesome.

Yesterday I made haystacks.

They are 1 Tbsp of peanut butter and 3 Tbsp of chocolate chips. Melted together. Mix in with 1 cup of fiberone. I don't usually use fiberone, but these turned out great.

The picture is a little blurry, but you get the picture.

I also made the Crackle Spice Drops from the WW website. They were amazing!!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I'm saving this recipe

POINTS® Value: 3
Servings: 6
Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 0 min
Level of Difficulty: Easy

Light, fluffy and utterly delectable!

Ingredients
60 g caster sugar
1 tablespoon water
3 medium egg(s), separated
4 tablespoon UDV Operations Ireland Ltd Baileys Irish Cream
3 tablespoon whipping cream
1/2 heaped teaspoon cocoa powder, (optional)
Instructions

* Reserve 1 tbsp caster sugar. Place the remaining sugar and water in a small heavy based saucepan. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves, then boil rapidly for about 1 minute until the mixture is syrupy, but not caramelised.

* Whisk the egg whites in a grease-free bowl until stiff, then slowly add the sugar syrup, beating well to thoroughly combine.

* Put the 3 egg yolks, remaining sugar and liqueur in a large heatproof bowl. Position the bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water and whisk until thick and frothy. This will take at least 5 minutes. Whisk in the egg white mixture. Share between 6 glasses. Chill in the fridge.

* Whisk the whipping cream until it holds its shape. Use to top the desserts, then serve at once, sprinkled with the cocoa powder (if using).

Gain

I gained 3.9 this week. I hope I'll get back ontrack 100% this week. I would like to lose some of it, if not all this week.

I mean, 4 lbs would be a lot for one week, so I doubt I'll lose it all this week. But hopefully at least some of it.

Christmas

So, it is almost Christmas. I've been pretty terrible about updating this blog. I'll be better next year I promise!!

I'm making Christmas cookies tomorrow. Crackled Spice Drops from the WW website. I also made haystacks with fiberone. I don't like fiber one so I don't usually cook with it. However these were pretty good.

I'm also making the Chocolate Marshmellow Bark. Yum.
