Back

So, it has been a while! Hi all.

I've worked out 10/30 times for my Feb. 14th goal. I won't make it to 30, but I'm happy with my progress so far.

I'll just add more days to my later goals.

I'm .7 away from my WW goal. I'm like...90 pages away from my thesis finish. So, back to that!

Last night at home

Hello all!

Bebe sent me a blog award, but I'm not really sure how to work the blog totally. I'll figure it out tomorrow, but thanks Bebe!!

Yesterday I made tofu following the tofu tutorial at .

Here it is!

I obviously still have some work to do, but it was tasty at least. Also, super low in points.

I had it with broccoli and the WW site peanut sauce.

It was delicious.

I've also been really into the WW chocolate smoothies with frozen bananas and 1 cup of water.

I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike while watching Jersey Shore. Wow. what a time suck. Which means I'm 4/30 for my work out goal until Valentine's Day.

Today I WI in the morning for a Biggest Loser challenge I'm in. I lost 2.8 which means I'm 3.8 away from my original weight watchers goal! I think my personal goal is less though.

Day 3 working out in the new year!

Now that I have readers, I'm still probably going to feel dumb spewing out my words.

I'm not new to blogging. I've had a blog since like 7th grade. I usually used it to lurk and talk with friends and whine in a very high school/middle school way. And read fanfiction.

So, a little different than what I'm trying to do now.

I went to jazzercise with my mom today. That makes it 3/30 days I exercised this year until Vday! Jazzercise was kind of fun I guess. It was the low impact exercise. I'm feeling a little sore, so it was good in that way. The woman working asked if I was a minor.

For a side dish at lunch today, I roasted brussel sprouts. I never tried them before, but I thought they were quite delicious.

I used this recipe from Simply Recipes!

Ingredients

* 1 pound Brussels sprouts, rinsed, ends trimmed
* 1 Tbsp minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
* 1 teaspoon lemon juice
* 2 Tbsp olive oil
* Salt
* Freshly ground black pepper
* 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Method

1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Place Brussels sprouts in a cast iron frying pan (or a roasting pan, but a cast iron frying pan will work great for this recipe). Toss in the garlic. Sprinkle Brussels sprouts with lemon juice. Toss with oil so that the sprouts are well coated. Sprinkle generously with salt (at least a half teaspoon) and a few turns of black pepper.

2 Put Brussels sprouts in oven on top rack, cook for 20 minutes, then stir so that the sprouts get coated with the oil in the pan. Cook for another 10 minutes. Then sprinkle with Parmesan (if using) and cook for another 5 minutes.

The sprouts should be nicely browned, some of the outside leaves crunchy, the interior should be cooked through.

Add more salt to taste. (Salting sufficiently is the key to success with this recipe.)

Serves 4.

I only used 1 Tbsp of olive oil. I also ate the whole thing myself (pretty much!).

I hope everyone else has a good OP weekend!

New Year's Resolution

Instead of trying to work out 5 days a week, I'm going to say how many days this year I want to work out! I know it will seem massive, but I think that is more realistic for me. If I don't do it one week, I might just give up on working out altogether. However, if I just have days to cross out, I'll do it.

I think I'll divide it into segments.

Valentine's Day (Feb. 14th) 6 weeks until Valentine's Day--work out 30 days
Spring Break-- 5 weeks from Vday to Spring Break--work out 20 days
Graduation--11 weeks from Spring Break to Graduation--40 days
July 4th--10ish weeks between--45 days
Labor Day--I don't even know when Labor Day is. 9ish weeks--45 days
Halloween--10ish weeks--45 days
Thanksgiving--4ish weeks--15 days
Christmas--4 weeks--20 days
End of year--2 weeks--10 days

All together I want to work out 260 days.

So far, 2/30 days done before Valentine's Day

New Year

Happy New Year everyone. Yesterday I went to a movie with my cousin.

I tried the creamy sweet potato soup today from the WW website. It was okay. Not that great.

It was great to have sweet potatoes though. I baked an extra one.

My mom has a very excellent popcorn maker where you can pop kernels in the microwave and make it with your own oil or seasoning. It is a lot of fun.

I feel silly rambling in this sometimes. This week has not been the greatest. I ate low point things on New Year's Eve, but I ate a LOT of it.

We go to Disney World on Thursday! Whoo.
